White Sox Win A Close Game vs Indians

Game 5, White Sox 8 - Indians 3

Game five of the season saw the White Sox take on the Indians.  In his first start of the year, Jay Dyer pitched 8 solid innings, allowing three runs on 8 hits.  Jay battled through with the help of his defense, which made a couple of highlight reel plays.  CF TJ Hernandez ran down a ball in the gap, threw a perfect ball to his cut off Ron Mitchell, who in turn threw a seed to third base nailing what would have been the tying run at the time.  In the top of the eighth, LF Ryan "Buzzie" Budgel made a game saving catch with the bases loaded and two outs with a full on dive into the fence on a ball slicing away from him that would have dropped fair by about an inch, saving the lead and eventually the game.  Ron Mitchell came in in the top of the ninth and got the side in order, sealing the win for the 5-0 White Sox.

Game stars were:

Jay Dyer, pitching 8 solid innings in his first start for his first win of the season.

Corey Pouliot, who went 3-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and three stolen bases.

TJ Hernandez, who went 3-3 with an RBI and three stolen bases.

Phil Mackey, who was 2-3 with an RBI double and a stolen base.

And Aric Graham, who was 2-2 with 2RBI's and a great slide at home on a wild pitch.
